Let us prepare our hearts to worship the Lord this Sunday.
This week during liturgy we will be confessing corporately as a body. Below is the confession that we will be saying aloud. I encourage you to read it, and consider these words to prepare your heart for Sunday morning.
Father, we are so often unaware of how much we treasure the things of this earth. Please give us eyes to see your perspective on our possessions. We confess how we have treasured our possessions on earth and have often not treasured true riches in heaven. You say that we are only sojourners here on earth and yet we often live like this is our forever home. Father, forgive our shortsightedness and lift our eyes to eternity. You say where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. We desire for our hearts to be captivated with you and you alone. Forgive us for all the ways that we love your earthly gifts rather than you, the giver of those gifts.
