We are average people who live in and around Cane Bay who deeply desire to know the love of Christ in a way that transforms us. We are people with struggles and weaknesses and we will freely admit it. So we lean heavily on the Holy Spirit and each other to help us in our friendships, marriages and jobs. We invite you to come do the same with us!
We have a big vision of seeing God do something amazing in Cane Bay through our church and the other churches here in Cane Bay. Though everyone in Cane Bay has pretty homes with great people living in them, there is a lot of loneliness, disappointment, and frustration if we are honest with ourselves. This is true regardless of our religious affiliation. We firmly believe full life can only be found in Christ. We gather to worship God because He desires it and we gather in order to experience full life in Christ. We call our small groups Missional Communities and our vision is to see them sprout up in every last neighborhood of Cane Bay. 
“With God all things are possible!” (Matt. 19:26) In order to fulfill this vision, we strive to do three things: Connect, Grow & Serve. What we do flows from who we are. Therefore, we prioritize 5 values above others because they each are so critical to accomplishing our Mission and seeing our Vision fulfilled. THE BIBLE – We believe Scripture is God’s infallible Word, relevant for all of life, and the source of all we teach and affirm.
PRAYER – We fervently pray, both individually and together, because God really listens and answers the prayers of His children.
LIVING ON MISSION – We each prioritize building real friendships with our neighbors and co-workers to help them experience a full life in Christ. As a church, we prioritize church planting locally and around the world.
DISCIPLESHIP – We are deeply involved in each other’s lives so that we all grow toward spiritual maturity.
REAL FRIENDSHIPS – We enjoy being authentic and vulnerable as we love and encourage one another.
What we believe about God, the world, and us is whatever the Bible says. But to help you know where we land on beliefs more specifically, we subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith and though it was written hundreds of years of ago, we still find it to be an accurate laying out of what the Bible teaches. We are a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA was formed in 1973 to be a denomination that is “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.”
The bad news is, we are all guilty of not following the rules that God, who made us, put in place for our good and our guilt deserves punishment – eternal punishment. There is nothing we can do to make up for our sin. No amount of good deeds or good behavior can earn God’s forgiveness. That goes for all of us. All have sinned, all are guilty, every one of us falls short of the glory of God and deserves his divine justice. That’s bad news.
So if we can’t fix ourselves and make ourselves right with God, who can? God alone. Only God can save us. He sent his son Jesus to take on our guilt and to die in our place so that we may be forgiven and be united with him. He died, was buried, and rose again on the third day to conquer death and sin for those who have faith in him. That’s the gospel. And that’s good news. A Christian is someone who believes the gospel.
This church is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) which is a denomination that believes that the Bible is the only guide for the Church. “Presbyterian” refers to the form of church governance. The PCA was formed in 1973 to be a denomination that is “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.” You can learn a lot more on the PCA website.
Cane Bay is one of the fastest growing communities in America. As companies continue to build and expand facilities in the greater Charleston area, Cane Bay will expand from 4,000 to 10,000 homes (currently 15,000+ people). Although this community has its own schools, medical offices, YMCA, and shopping center, it has only a few churches to serve the entire Cane Bay population as it continues to multiply. Our heart’s desire is to plant a PCA church in this community to reach these families with the gospel.
